DR. Seyed Mohammad Ali Shamekhi

DR. Seyed Mohammad Ali Shamekhi is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Tehran, specializing in Western Philosophy. For his Master’s degree he conducted research on Renaissance philosophy, specifically focusing on the ideas of Marsilio Ficino and Pico della Mirandola. In his doctoral studies, he delved into the metaphysical views of Leibniz, particularly comparing his monadological perspective with Aristotle’s understanding of substance.

Throughout his academic journey, Seyed Mohammad Ali Shamekhi has been actively engaged in translation and editing within the field of philosophy. He has translated and edited works on ancient and medieval philosophy, including books on Aristotle, Plato, and Nicholas of Cusa, and Stoicism and Neoplatonism in general. He has collaborated with renowned publishers such as Nashr-e Ney, Nashr-e Mahi, Negah Publications, Ghoghnoos Publications, and Naghsh-o-Negar Publications. Furthermore, he serves as the chief editor of the series “Roozgar-e Nokhost” at Naghsh-o-Negar Publications to provide reliable Persian translations of influential works of ancient philosophy.
